Tiger, Tiger

Hmmmm...well it was one of those days :)
I started the day yesterday making a some "tiger skin" following Nanson's excellent tutorial. I became frustrated trying to make my result into tile, and thus more useable and headed off to the garden, with William Blake's poem bouncing around in my head.
A few hours weeding and planting and I had worked out a way :)
Of course once I had found my super Sumatran tiger image, I wasn't satisfied until I'd also made a leafy batik texture for a background! [and a few others too :) ]
Clicking on the image above will bring up a larger preview and you can also download a zip with full desksized images from my 4shared files.

The Tiger

TIGER, tiger, burning bright

In the forests of the night,

What immortal hand or eye

Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies

Burnt the fire of thine eyes?

On what wings dare he aspire?

What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder and what art

Could twist the sinews of thy heart?

And when thy heart began to beat,

What dread hand and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?

In what furnace was thy brain?

What the anvil? What dread grasp

Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,

And water'd heaven with their tears,

Did He smile His work to see?

Did He who made the lamb make thee?

Tiger, tiger, burning bright

In the forests of the night,

What immortal hand or eye

Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
William Blake (1757–1827)

October Roses Scrapkit for Taggers

I have resized elements of my October Roses Scrapkit so that they are more suitable for those of you who prefer to publish on the web :)
The background papers are still quite large enough, I hope, for page backgrounds for a digital album.
You can download a zip with my bits and pieces HERE
PS Chris has created a really lovely desktop using my kit !
Thanks Chris.

October Roses Heritage Album Pages

It is worth clicking on the image above to see more detail in this scrapkit.
Although I really designed these papers and elements to compliment my old 1920's photos,
most would suit photos of any era :)

To make for easier downloads I have separated the kit into two zips.

The 5 background papers are all 3600 X 3600 .jpg and can be downloaded HERE

The other elements, 2 frames, a photo mount and it's darker background, a journalling block, and 2 roses elements are in .png and .jpg format. They can be downloaded HERE

These papers etc will also tone in quite well with my "In the Pink" kit if you would like to mix and match.

If you like what you see or have any suggestions, I'd love to hear, ...just leave a message here or in my guestbook.

We have just revamped our graphics gallery on fotki with new cards and a new look, why don't you pop in and download some cards to send to your friends, and maybe let them know where to find an e-card for most occassions. :)

A Botanical Rose Desktop Wallpaper

click to enlarge I used a lovely old rose illustration by the wonderful rose artist Alfred Parsons [for book "The Genus Rosa" (1910-1914) by Ellen Willmott] for my inspiration for this desktop wallpaper which is a little reminiscent of old botanical prints. By clicking on the image above, you will bring up a larger image wereby you can also get a better idea of the textured background I have created.
As usual I made several sized versions to suit most screens which you can download by clicking on the image below.
